Australian International Cadet Worlds Team Tasmanian members of the Australian International Cadet Worlds Team spent last weekend at their first training camp held at Royal Geelong Yacht Club. It is great to see members of Sandy Bay Sailing Club competing at this level and we wish them all luck in the coming months as they lead up to the Worlds in Bruinisse, Netherlands during August. |

Club Race Officer Seminar On Saturday 6th May, Australian Sailing formerly Yachting Australia are holding a Club Race Officer Seminar at Derwent Sailing Squadron. This course is aimed at educating people who wish to become involved with the officiating aspect within the sport of
Sailing. Race Officers play an important role within sailing, conducting racing
at clubs, and enabling organised participation and competition .

Marina Gate Opening Hours With the ending of day light saving on Sunday 2 April the marina gates will open at 7.00am and close at 5.00pm from now till October. |

Current Exhibition - Sailing Through Waters and Skies by Dorothy Dardens 18th April - 29th May Official Opening Thursday 20th April 2017 Sailing Through Water and Skies is Dorothy’s first Tasmanian exhibition - 24 contemporary watercolours on paper. As Dorothy explains: “seventeen years of cruising aboard my catamaran ADAGIO has provided me with many opportunities to record the beauty around me in watercolour; skies and water in infinite moods, cruising and racing yachts, coastal scenes and wildlife"

Squadron is brimming with great memories and celebrations of time spent on the
water. We ask that you share them on the Art-wall by submitting your favourite
photo(s) of one or more of the following categories:

RACING | CRUISING | LANDSCAPE | FUN ON THE WATER Email jpeg or pdf image(s) to [email protected] by May 31st 2017 - include your name, nominate colour or black & white printing and submission category(s). Entries will be printed to 20cm x 25cm and displayed by number – entrants remaining anonymous. A ballot box nomination will be used to select the winning photo for each category. Cost $10 charged to your club account. PRIZE NIGHT AUGUST 7 ....a celebration of all things sailing

Member Car Parking Permits Those members who have already paid their membership will soon receive our new parking permit stickers in the mail. Once you have received your parking permit please place on your car and advise the office of your registration number.

New House Open Times With the colder winter months coming our house open times will change from 10th April until Spring.
|

Our Weekly Jackpot is a members-only draw between 5.30pm and 7.30pm every Friday night. The jackpot increases by $50 every
week. When the jackpot reaches $1000, we start a second jackpot. Every DSS
financial member over the age of 18 is automatically entered, but you have to
be present to take home the prize!
