Blood, Sweat and the Sea The new Muir family biography, Blood, Sweat and the Sea, was launched at the Australian Wooden Boat Festival. Following on from
John's father Jock Muir's biography in the early 1990s, this book continues the
Muir maritime legacy and details the establishment of the Muir winch, windlass
and deck equipment business. |

The Muir name has long been synonymous with boat building, competitive sailing and the marine manufacturing business in Tasmania. Former ABC journalist Mike Swinson has written an engaging account of John's early life in Battery Point, his forebears and their strong maritime link, and the amazing amount of hard work in building a globally recognised and respected manufacturing company from Tasmania. This book also includes fascinating anecdotes and contributions from some of the global marine manufacturing industry's biggest names. This book is now available to purchase at the DSS Office. |
|
The Squadron now has a used battery drop off container located in the slip-yard. Please see our Marine Facilities Officer Peter for more details. |
