Magical Mystery Tour concludes
The Magical Mystery Tour took place this week, venturing out into the Bass Strait and off to Wilsons Promontory, making port at Refuge Cove. As expected the fleet did deplete as we got closer to the event, however there were lots of well-meant intentions, and in the end four boats set off, meeting up at QCYC on the first night for a briefing over a liquid refreshment and a barbeque. The four boats were lead by Marni as the mother ship, with Richard Burgess as skipper, owner Ian Reichelt as Cruise Coordinator, and Andre Lamb and Bryan Snakey O’Neill as crew. There was also Next Moment (Liz Meyer, Sandy Doull and visiting crew member Matt), Whimaway (Hanse Kopans as skipper and colleague Mitch Davis as crew and ‘Navi-guesser’) and Mondavella (Barry Preistly and boat partner).Read more...

Have Your Say!
In 2016, the Royals' Communications Committee asked for your feedback, and as a result we made some changes. The time has now come to check in and see how members think we're going. Complete the survey and let us know what you think. The survey will be open until Monday, 12 February 2018. So far we have had 26 respondents, but we'd like to see more! Don't miss this opportunity to have your say.

OTB Clubroom Funding
The OTB Clubrooms are lined with Asbestos sheeting which has prevented any work being undertaken for many years. The OTB Committee volunteers applied for funding to address the Asbestos under the Stronger Communities Grant Programme run by the Federal Government. The application was supported by our Federal Member for Gellibrand Tim Watts, resulting in an award of $20,000. Read more...

New blood (and an old hand)
It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce two key appointments to the Royals team. Taking up the role of Waterfront Manager is Ryan Blackstock. Ryan has a wealth of experience in the marine field, and is well known and respected in the industry. As a former commodore (HBYC) Ryan has a solid understanding of the workings of a yacht club. Ryan is contactable on (03) 8383 1975, by mobile at 0402 230 287 and via e-mail.
Taking over the role of sailing and membership administration from Amelia Martin is Pamela Wiseman. Pam last worked here in 2012 and has hit the ground running. Amelia will stay with the Club on a part time basis working more in the PR, marketing & communications field. These two appointments firmly place the Club in a strong position for the start of 2018. Do take the chance to say "hi" to both Pam and Ryan when you are next in the Club.
