One of the clubs favourite days of the year, Aussie Day, is only one day away and bookings are flying out the door. If you didn't see on
Facebook already, we'll have an animal petting zoo visiting the club to entertain the kids thanks to
Native ARC!
For those asking about food options on the day, there will be an all you can eat Australian Buffet with lamb and beef from the spit and a fresh salad bar for $25 p/head, a limited A La Carte menu will also available throughout the day. Our beverage team have whipped up some new drink specials on offer with an exclusive Aussie twist - Look out for these promotions on the tables.
There will be plenty of prizes to be won on the day such as a massive lollie jar for the kids footy kicking competition, a Great Northern Swag, Ugly Stik Tacklebox Bag and footy giveaways. Get pumped!
We have exciting news to announce with the club welcoming Craig Hicks to the role of our new Executive Chef.
Previous experience includes Executive Chef positions at the award-winning Press
Club in Hanoi, Vietnam, the Saigon Town and Country
Club, the luxury Hotel Como, Melbourne and the renowned boutique hotel
and restaurant Hotel Bela Vista in Macau.
Craig began his career more than 25 years ago as an Apprentice Chef in
Newcastle. His career
then followed a series of increasingly senior
appointments in leading hotels and resorts in Thailand, the Philippines,
Vietnam, Macau and Australia. He has also consulted to a number of
leading restaurant and resort developers in Asia and Australia. We
look forward to having Craig on board and furthering the development of our food and
beverage services.
Back yourself up after a big Aussie Day and come countdown triple j's Hottest 100 this Saturday afternoon. My personal favourite song from 2017 is 'Vance Joy's - Lay It On Me' so hopefully that's up there on the charts.
