Making Buller even better
A steering committee oversaw development of the Mt Buller
Master Plan over 2010 and 2011. Recently the RMB reformed the steering committee comprising representatives from Buller Ski Lifts, Mt Buller Chamber of Commerce, Mt Buller Rate Payers Association and Regional Development Victoria. The committee is drilling into issues identified in the Master Plan, including access, amenity and new activities that will become year-round attractions. As ideas develop, they’ll be shared with our community for feedback and new ideas.
Exciting plans underway– Mt Buller Mt Stirling mountain bike trails
The RMB has been awarded $200k in grant funding for planning and preparations for improvements to and expansion of the Mt Buller Mt Stirling bike trail network. We look forward to sharing these plans with the bike industry and our valued community, and receiving input and feedback through consultation sessions in the coming months. Details will be available on the RMB website.

Tyler Springfield
How long have you worked at Mt Buller
and what’s your role?

I have worked two winters here. My first was at Alpine Retreat in reception and the bar. This winter I worked at both Alpine Retreat and Buller Grocer, where I’ll be working all summer.
What are you excited for this summer?
I’m excited to explore the mountain, check out the trails, and understand summer operations. I’m looking forward to events, especially Targa!
What's your favourite thing about Mt Buller?
The alpine environment, but it's the people that make Mt Buller what it is. Everyone is kind and lovely.
Q: Can I still apply for a refund for my 2020 resort entry season permit?
A: Yes. Refunds for 2020 village and resort entry vehicle
permits are still currently available, applications close 31 October 2020.
Labour Day Weekend Event
After 13 epic years, organisers of the Bike Buller Festival, Rapid Ascent, have decided to not continue staging the event. The RMB is currently seeking expressions of interest for a new mountain biking lifestyle event to hopefully run over the Labour Day weekend in 2021 and beyond. The expression of interest documents can be accessed here.
Use extra caution on
Corn Hill Rd
There is a landslide 1km down Corn Hill Rd (entry via Celia's Kiosk). The road has been partially closed off, please use extra caution when driving past this area.
Vale Bill Duff
It is with great sadness that we note the passing of Bill Duff, one of the original Ski Hire Pioneers of Mt Buller. Bill worked on several of the iconic sights at Mt Buller including Kooroora, Arlberg, the original Abom and Federation T-bar. Bill built and operated Duff’s ski hire from 1959 until the mid-1980s. Our thoughts go out to Joan, Tracey, Niki and their extended family and friends.
The hills are alive with the sound of music
Check out the new piano in the Village Square (outside Buller Sports Central). While the tune isn’t great, we hope it adds an element of fun to surprise and delight visitors this green season.
#Steveleefightback - Fundraising initiative for Steve Lee
As many in the community will be aware, Olympic skiing legend Steve Lee suffered a massive stroke at home in Falls Creek in early September. Steve is a three time Olympian and has claimed victory on the Alpine World Cup circuit. He will need ongoing treatment, support, and assistance to get him back to something that resembles a normal life again. Steve will need significant financial support for this to happen and Snow Australia is calling on the broader snow community to help. To learn more or donate click here.
