2021 Edition Ten of Chicks with Sticks Wednesday 29th September
|
|
Greetings, and a big welcome back again to the Vic. Chicks, united as a family once more.
For a while there, it was “Chicks Without Sticks”, as we Vics. watched
enviously from the other side of the River, saddened by the closure of our Club
and nearly empty courses. However, we’re happy to be gracing the fairways
again, even though the first event was Par!!
*News
Catchup.
Some
of our NSW friends posted some great scores during the last month. Jenny Orr
was very excited to score 45pts one round (including a Birdie on Murray 10, 2
for 5!)
Nicha
Moore embraced the Lockdown opportunity, swapping work for golf, playing some
excellent rounds and reducing her Handicap by 7 shots.
Chrissy
Gilligan eagled the 18th Lake, playing with husband Phil, who
matched that with an eagle of his own on the same hole, same day, same comp.!!
Well
done to those girls, there were other very commendable scores too and it was
lovely to see them reported on our Club Facebook page by administrators, Mick
Spring and Julie Kirchen. It kept us all in touch, the comments posted
indicating the support for all those who could play. |
|
Speaking of winners:- The Club Mixed 27H Foursomes Championship was decided last Sunday.
Perfect conditions were reflected in the quality scoring by the Dynamic Duo of
Club Champ. Baxter Droop and his Grandmother Karen, who captured both the
Championship and the Nett Event. Congrats. to the youngster and the “not so
youngster”. Honorable mentions to Louise Cross and Chrissy Gilligan, who, with
their partners, were Runners/Up in the Gross and Nett Events, respectively.
Well done, Chicks. |

*Finally,
a very special thankyou to YMGCR Gaming Manager, Bree Sanders, who has been an invaluable
help to me this year in the publishing of the Chicks’ Newsletters. Bree is
leaving to further her career at the Moama Bowls Club. I will miss her input
and extremely efficient work ethic, also the fun we’ve had putting the editions
together. Thanks so much, Bree, and all the very best for your future. |
